I adore Emery and Miles.  I adored them the first meeting we had at my house, I adored them the night we took engagement pictures and drank wine outside at their house.  I adore the quirky faces that they make at each other, and what kind, good-hearted people both of them are.  I love their style and how both of them love their family more than anything else.

When I left this wedding at the end of the night, I had one solid thought on my mind.  That one of my favorite expereinces about my job is not only falling in love with people but falling in love with whole families.  Getting in on their stories to the point that when I see a moment happen between two people that I know have a history, it often makes me cry and I feel like I have captured a a precious rare gem.  I felt this was shooting that day.  I am so thankful that I got to know you two and be delighted by your presence and get acquainted with the love you have for each other.  Here is a peek at some favorites…

Emery was talking to her sister-in-law in the bathroom about the father daughter dance and then broke out with an impression of her theatrical moves.

Emery’s dad came in for one final practice of their dance

it made Emery’s best friend cry to see her dance with her dad

I thought this was so cute- whenever Emery and Miles were in the car and people outside were honking and yelling and waving, they always waved back with such enthusiasm.

A photo of Miles and his late father stood in memorial as guests entered

Miles is very close to his dad’s mom.  Here she looks lovingly at Miles as he enters for the ceremony.

Emery grabbed her mom for a song that was evidently one of “their songs”.  They were dancing and being silly and then Emery’s mom started to cry.  My mother’s heart melted.

  • There are so many beautiful images here, Becca. I’m sad when I see weddings I didn’t get to photograph with you!! : ( Boo…..There are several images that immediately stood out to me. Without looking back the first one that comes to mind is the one of Miles and Emry hugging after the ceremony–Miles’ hands are gripped fully across her back, it’s so so lovely and speaks deeply to how you can tell he cherishes her. The photos of Emry and her dad dancing are so sweet and special too. Everything images communicates something special and all look so crisp and clean. Great job, B.
