Cortney and Zach bring me so much joy!  I am so fond of them that I “awwed” at their little quirks and mannerisms as I edited the pictures down.  One of their best assets is their sense of humor.  Being married to someone that makes me laugh really hard every day, I can say that seeing couples laugh loud together gives me a good feeling for their future.  Their wedding day included a few stellar wedding firsts for me.  One of them being a spontaneous trip to a roadside carnival during portrait time.  I will fill you in on the other stories throughout the post…Enjoy!

Okay, this is one of my favorite moments in wedding history, because it was so unexpected.  Zach and Cortney had decided to mark the beginning of their wedding day by taking a trip down memory lane, and watching one of their old favorites, Muppets Take Manhattan, the wedding scene.  So, of course, they’re cracking up, and so am I as I’m shooting, remembering the “Somebody’s Getting Maweeeeeed……” song from my youth, and we are all laughing so hard our stomachs start to hurt, and then Kermit and Piggy are walking down the aisle, the music slows, and Kermit sings “She’ll make me happy each time I hold her, and I will follow where my heart will lead, and she’ll be all I’ll ever need”, and Cortney looks over at Zach, surprised, because she realizes he’s crying.  Then she started to cry, then they started to crack up again.  It was the best.
