I love people who are real. and a bit wild. and okay with the way that life is sometimes so crazy that you just have to laugh or else you’ll cry. The Hensleys are like that and it draws me to them.
We met Tara and Caleb at a birthing class when we were both pregnant with our oldest child. We later found out, after we became friends, that we had made up stories about each other in our heads. I thought they were Irish immigrants because they looked so beautifully earthy and Irish, and she thought I was a Pilates instructor. I’ll take it.
So anyways, we have been in and out of touch over the last four years as we are both in the same crazy life stage. But Tara wanted to document the four of them in this season that they are in, about to move into a new house, and looking back on the many evenings and afternoons that they spent walking down this path, to this bridge as a family. Here are the favorites. love you guys.
The officiant at Mallory and Casey’s wedding pointed out that during the ceremony, while Casey was getting misty-eyed, Mallory was laughing. The whole crowd laughed, knowing that this is typical snapshot of these two. The first time I met Mallory and Casey I was so excited that they had found me. Casey was wearing one of his signature bow ties, and Mallory was clean, preppy with a whimsical twist. I knew that they had style, that they were real, and that they knew how to have a good time and throw a party that would be a treat to attend. It was definitely that. The weather was unseasonably cold, but the atmosphere was warm and sophisticated and cozy. Delicious food and one of my favorite local motown cover bands, the Good Foot. Thank you guys for letting me be a part! Here are some of my favorites from the day…

Anne and Ryan have a contagious happiness about them. They are a serious uplift. The way that Ryan makes Annie laugh reminds me of one of the reasons I fell in love with my husband. And so I love seeing it in them. I think that anyone would like these two. Here is a look into our afternoon together.
You know those times when something is so much fun that it makes you cry? Kathy and Adam’s reception was so over-the-top fun that I actually teared up a little bit at one point (when the Marching Cobras came out- more on that later). Kathy and Adam lived in Shanghai the year that they were planning their wedding, but the main thing I heard Kathy say again and again was that she wanted it to be a celebration. And it absolutely was. A big beautiful party that all of the guests will remember for years. Both of their families filled the dance floor for hours, and it was so hard to narrow down the dancing photos. I’m so thankful that I got to be a part of this wonderful event. You two were a complete pleasure!
