I first met Jesse at my good friend Sarah’s wedding in Aspen, and got to know him and his brother Beau over the long weekend. I quickly learned why my friend Sarah had made these two honorary brothers. They have an exceptional family. Relationship, adventure, fun, beautiful simple experiences- these are the things that seem to matter most to this family. A little over a year later, at another friend, Nicole’s wedding, Jesse had a stunning and kind-spirited redhead by his side. This was my first encounter with Taylor. They fell quickly in love and they were soon engaged. When I knew there was a possibility that I might photograph their wedding, I was giddy.
Over the past months of periodic get togethers and phone calls, and as I’ve seen their relationship unfold through photos of them raising chickens and rabbits and cooking breakfast together at what is now their home, I have absolutely fallen in love with these two. They are so kind to me, and at the end of the night, Jesse’s parents gave me a hug and made me feel connected to that large circle of warm hospitality that they have extended to so many others. It was pure play to photograph your beauty and your story, and I am so thankful to know you two. You are without a doubt going to have an exceptional life together!
Be sure to get all the way to the end for a multi-media show, with their beautiful vows. You can also view it by clicking here.
A little teaser to the wedding of two people who move me with their inward and outward beauty. Here’s Jesse and Taylor’s rehearsal. Wedding to come by the end of the week!
When I took these photos a few weeks ago, my friend Lauren didn’t know whether that little baby in her belly was a boy or girl. Now little Hudson is here! Congratulations Lauren and Taylor. Love you guys!
I truly love the Scobies. I got to know them and their amazing families through photographing their wedding in 2009, and it is a true joy to keep in touch and see their little family grow.
Here is beautiful baby Beau at 6 months.
I met the Mosiers through one of my wedding couples, and I recently got to photograph their beautiful newborn baby girl Leila. She is angelic. Here are a few favorites. I can’t help but swoon looking at these and thinking about having my own sweet newborn in a few months.
Over the past 5 years I’ve had the privilege of photographing Diana and Jason’s wedding, the welcoming of their first son Henry, and now their little family is growing as they anticipate the arrival of their second child! We met up to shoot some pictures of their little family as it is now, doing something they often do- picnic!
When I first met with Calla and her sister, she knew immediately I was right for her when I said that most of my brides aren’t interested in being model for a day, and I knew she was right for me when she told me one great story after another about this guy Tyler, who was currently serving in the Marine Corps in Afghanistan. We laughed a lot, we even cried at that first meeting. I knew immediately that I loved this couple, even though I had only met one half in person. At our last meeting, I got to see the video of Tyler’s homecoming, and see his parents and two brothers and Calla wait for hours in the cold with signs welcoming him home fro the other side of the world. I have always loved hearing the admiration and adoration that Calla has for this guy Tyler that she fell in love with at Willam Jewel. And I finally got to meet him, and see the tenderness in his looks toward her, the beautiful words he had to say about how much he loved her, and the immense amount of respect that he has from his friends and comrades.
Calla is one of the most animated, good-time brides I’ve ever had. This girl injects humor (and dancing) into just about every moment of the day. I loved seeing her sweet relationship with her dad and sister. Honestly, I could go on and on. These guys are the real deal. Here’s a look into their wedding day.
Jackie and Kyle are one of my long time families, meaning I got to know them through photographing their wedding a few years ago, and our relationship continues as their lives evolve and their family has grown to include little Gavin. Here are some fun photos we took at the park this spring.
I remember the wedding season that both Nicole Parigo and I were pregnant, and both shooting of course. The Parigos have been good friends for years, but we have grown closer as we have had daughters that are just a few months apart in age, and really compatible: creative, sometimes shy. I really love Simone, and it was so fun to see her enjoy her first big birthday gathering for her 3rd birthday. Love you guys! Check out the Parigos films and photography here.
