I’ve had the privilege to photograph lovely Kristin carrying both of her children.  Here are some photos from a few months ago, just weeks before little Felicity was born.

My friend Nicole is a rare beauty.  She is so comfortable in her skin.  She doesn’t feel the need to fill the air with talk, she listens carefully, and speaks thoughtfully.  She is a seeker of adventure, and beauty, and I always tell her that she should be a personal consultant on how to lead a holistically better life.  She has discerning taste and she pursues living well.  The first time I met Brian, I remember totally “getting” why Nicole fell in love with him so quickly.  I love his passion and intellect. I admire his pursuit of justice and mercy.  I love the way he balances her in some of the same ways I have seen my husband balance me.

Their wedding day was rooted in the Westside Kansas City neighborhood they have called home together for the last year.  Nicole hosted friends with food and a laid back day at her house, and then walked with her dad to the gallery down the street, where she walked down the aisle and Brian and Nicole made their promises to one another.  Then we all walked just a block away to a beautiful lingered-over dinner at The Westside Local.

So today is Nicole’s birthday, and in honor of her, one of my favorite people, here are a few favorites from that October day.  Love you guys.

Nicole had the most beautiful little luxuries for her guests, all from local artisans: Christopher Elbow Chocolates, Black Pepper scented Trapp candles, and SodaVie all natural sodas.
