On a recent evening, I picked up a good friend to go out to dinner.
As we started to pull out of the driveway, I saw her five-year-old son standing in the doorway, silhouetted by the light inside, both hands spread out and pressed against the glass.
"He's waiting for me to wave," she said. "I always wave goodbye any time I'm leaving."
I told her that I wanted that picture.
That those are the kinds of moments that add up to make life immeasurably beautiful.
Those are the kinds of images I want to make for you. I find joy and importance in documenting people's lives.
I have a background in painting and a degree in sociology, and my passions of visual communication and observation of people are perfectly combined in photography.
I live in the Kansas City area with my husband, Mark and our daughter, Charlotte. I knew from the beginning that Mark would make me laugh out loud every day. And he does. We are now blessed to have a little girl who cracks us both up every day, astonishes us with her wit and insight, and makes us swoon with her affection. Family is very important to us. We are thankful for our deeply supportive families that we also love to spend time with. We are spoiled with some pretty amazing friendships. We have a lot to be thankful for, and I am grateful to have a vocation that feels so much like an outpouring of my soul.
Thank you for taking a minute to look at some of my life and work. I look forward to meeting you and knowing a bit about your story.
